Payment
Credit/Debit card details are required at the time of
booking. This acts as your guarantee. The balance is due on
departure and can be paid by any of the following methods;
Sterling Cash, Personal UK
Cheques
with a Guarantee Card – accepted up to the limit of the card
only, Debit/Credit Cards.
If you have not booked directly through Post Cottage, Credit
Cards carry a +2% surcharge.
Post Cottage reserves the right to pre-authorise
credit cards prior to arrival. The price you have been given
includes VAT.
Cancellation Policy
Any cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will
unfortunately incur the full charge of the accommodation,
unless the room(s) can be re-let.

No Shows - In the event of a ‘No Show’ the cost of the
entire reservation will be deducted from the
Debit/Credit card used to reserve the room.

Curtailment of Stay - Unless exceptional circumstances
apply, no refunds will be given. We recommend that you
take out the necessary cancellation/travel insurance.
Check-in Times
You are welcome to arrive anytime between 11.00am and
18.00pm. If you believe you will arrive after 20.00 please
contact us to advise of your arrival time.
Checking-Out
Guests are requested to vacate their room(s) by 10.00am on
the day of departure.
Loss/Damage to Property
Rooms will be checked after departure and any breakages,
loss or damage will be charged to the credit/debit card that
made the booking. In the unfortunate circumstance of lost
keys a charge of £75.00 will apply. This charge occurs as
locks will need to be replaced.
Meal Times
Breakfast is served between 8.00am and 9.00am Monday to
Friday and 8.30am to 9.30am at the weekend. If you would
like breakfast outside of these times please ask on your
arrival.
No Smoking
We adopt a strict no smoking policy in all rooms and in all
internal and external areas of Post Cottage.
Please note that if you choose to ignore our wishes and no
smoking policy you will be asked to leave and charged in
full for your entire stay. PLEASE DON’T SMOKE.

Introduction
- We aim to cater for the needs of visitors to our home-
based two-bedroom bed and breakfast in the heart of ‘Secret
England’. The following is a summary of what we provide.
Pre-Arrival
- Booking enquiries can be made by accessing our website or
contacting us by phone.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
- We are very easy to find as Ridlington has only one road
in and out. As you drive into village, look for the Green
with a large oak tree and post box and you will find Post
Cottage.
You can park on the drive within the boundary. The surface
is level and gravel. Help is always on hand to assist with
the luggage.
Main Entrance and Reception
- The porch has one step 5” high. The Reception area is
spacious with a flag stone floor.
Stairs
- Leading from Reception is the staircase, 34 inches wide
with 10 steps each with a tread of 8 inches high x 10 inches
deep. These lead to the landing and an archway 30 inches
wide. Further along the landing is a 3 inch step up.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms -
The Twin Bedded Room (Blue Rose Bedroom) has a 26 inch wide
doorway. The beds are 6 ft-6” x 3 ft and 2 ft high. There is
ample hanging space and a chest of drawers. There are also
tea & coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and TV. Adjacent
is the spacious bathroom for the sole use of our guests.
There is a bath, toilet, wash basin and a separate power
shower cubicle with 10 inch high step.
The Double Bedded Room (The Iris Suite) has a king-sized bed
6 ft-6” long x 5 ft wide x 2 ft high. An archway 32 inch
wide leads to dressing room with ample hanging space and
chest of drawers. There is a fold-up bed and cot available.
For families, we offer steriliser and baby alarm. Also
available are tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer
and TV. The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, wash basin,
shower cubicle (10” high step) and bidet.
Dining Room
- To approach the dining area in is necessary to go down a 3
inch step. Breakfast is served in the Conservatory. The
furniture is flexible so be arranged to suit the number of
guests. We offer a wide range of breakfasts which include
Full English, Continental and Vegetarian.
Garden
- We have a patio outside the conservatory with a large
table and sunshade. If the guests wish, they can take their
meals here. Also the level lawn has plenty of garden
furniture and is available for guests to use.
Additional Information -
We are a Non-Smoking establishment. Drink and medication can
be stored in out fridge by arrangement. The whole house is
protected by smoke alarms.
